Agreement with Morgan Sindall extended

Bridgman IBC are happy to announce that our supply chain agreement with Morgan Sindall Group has been extended from 1st January 2023 through to the end of 2025.

As part of this agreement we have also been included on the Muse Developments supply chain for the first time.

Muse is one of the UK’s leading names in mixed-use development and urban regeneration, with a range of major commercial and residential schemes across the country.

They are part of the Morgan Sindall Group.

Our relationship with Muse Developments will mean that our team can be involved at pre-tender stage assisting contractors, clients, architects and designers with the project specification which will help ensure more confidence on prices through the bid process.

Bridgman IBC hope that over the coming years this relationship will be hugely beneficial to our turnover as we work to strengthen that relationship.

We will be working closely with the ironmongery company of choice for Muse, to again ensure that certifications and specifications are correct before construction begins.

We would like to thank Morgan Sindall Group for their confidence in Bridgman IBC and we look forward to working with them over the next 3 years.

Message From Mick Butler

Here at Bridgman, we are setting our focus on 2023, which marks our 19th year at the helm of the business. A business that started as IBC Ltd back in 1982 and before that was a section of an international PLC with over 100 years of history.

We are thankful for the exceptional team here at Bridgman; our team has the desire for the business to succeed and provide outstanding customer service.

We also thank our suppliers without whom we simply wouldn’t be able to achieve great levels of customer service.

We have a large number of loyal customers who have supported us up to and throughout 2022. We take this opportunity to thank them for their ongoing support and look forward to working with them in 2023 and beyond.

Our business, like any other, is not immune to the challenges that the cost of living & energy crisis causes, and this has meant a review of our energy use.

We have worked with industry specialists to develop several energy saving projects that will bear fruit in 2023. These projects should help reduce the impact of higher energy costs by reducing our overall usage.

We have retained our FSC, PEFC, Q Mark, ISO14001 & 9001 accreditation and are now striving towards our sustainability goal of reaching net zero.

Also, we celebrate two of our team members Tony Phillips and Val Ridgeway achieving 50 years’ service in 2022 which is an achievement that few are likely to repeat.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

Outstanding Fire Test Results

With the assistance of Warrington Fire, we recently undertook a 60 minute fire test of our in-house, traditionally manufactured, flax, stile and rail doorset. are delighted to announce that we passed that test with a 13% overrun achieving 68 minutes overall.

Peter Bowes, Executive Director, said:

“An outstanding result. With Bridgman IBC Ltd being a proud member of the BM Trada Q-mark scheme, this means that we are required to have our products rigorously audited and fire tested at regular intervals. This result further strengthens our position in the market with specific regard to reliable certification. Well done to all the team.”

The Q-Mark is the product certification scheme for building and construction products and is regarded as one of the most rigorous certification processes available.

Ben Morton Reflects On First Year At Bridgman

We recently caught up with Ben Morton who works within our Estimating Team and celebrated his first year with the company earlier this month.

The 19 year old Estimating Apprentice is studying Project Management (BSc) at Northumbria University part time, alongside his role at Bridgman IBC.

Reflecting upon the last 12 months, he said: “It’s been a very interesting and rewarding experience. I’ve seen first hand just how broad the construction industry is and it has given me a greater understanding and appreciation of the manufacturing process.

“I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to go out on site and attend client meetings. That experience has been invaluable and has given me a great insight into how the business operates within the sector. While it has been a challenge to build customer relationships from scratch, this is something that I have been keen to embrace and aim to improve going forward.

“Having observed meetings and attended visits I want to become more hands on with my account management over the next twelve months.

“I am a proud employee of Bridgman IBC and grateful for this apprenticeship opportunity. It enables me to study for qualifications whilst gaining real world experience in the workplace. Approximately half of my assignments are based on the things that I do or see day in day out at work and that is very helpful. Seeing things in practice gives me a greater understanding when studying for the theory.”

Ben has recently taken over key account management responsibility for one of Bridgman IBC’s supply chain partners, Morgan Sindall. This will help further his development and knowledge, while providing enhanced customer service to the client.

Message From Peter Bowes

As we approach the end of 2021, we at Bridgman are looking forward to 2022 and the hope and prosperity that we anticipate for the beginning of each New Year.

I think it’s essential to thank all the team at Bridgman IBC for the exceptional effort and their hard work that has seen us succeed through this historic time within the UK & the World in general.

We must also acknowledge the dedication and support of all our supply partners, without whom we would not have been able to provide our services to our loyal customer base.

Brexit and Covid have taken their toll, and I offer my thoughts to those who have been affected, writing this it’s obvious to me that that basically means everyone, as I cannot recall anyone who hasn’t had some negative impact because of these challenges.

These challenges more recently have seen raw material prices and the costs of logistics rise at staggering speed and Bridgman are as affected as anybody in construction at this time. However, our suppliers and transport partners remain able to support us.

With the tragedy of Grenfell, we have seen a number of major construction companies requiring project specific fire testing and for Bridgman this has resulted in over six fire tests in 2021, showing our commitment and confidence in our teams’ abilities and our product to serve the industry and our clients.

To add to our successes, we have retained our FSC, PEFC, Q Mark, ISO14001 & 9001 accreditation and are now striving towards our sustainability goal of reaching net zero.

We move forward with confidence and belief in ourselves and the knowledge that we bring with us our fantastic team, suppliers that excel, all with the goal of providing our loyal customers and clients a service that they expect and that we are proud of.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

Happy New Year!

The past year has been exceptionally busy for us and we would like to thank all of our customers and supply chain partners for choosing Bridgman IBC Ltd during 2017.

We have worked with a number of partners supplying some very prestigious projects and also delivering a number of fire safety presentations, playing our part in improving fire safety in the UK.

Check out the gallery on our website; https://bridgman-ibc.com/gallery/ for a sample of the projects.

We have also made significant progress on a number of Sustainability projects, our 100k square foot business premises no longer uses gas for any manufacturing process or heating. We currently recycle around 90% of our waste from manufacturing and business activities. The team have worked tremendously towards helping Bridgman take our sustainability goals forward.

Bridgman IBC Ltd.’s commitment to youth employment continues with two new apprentices joining the Bridgman team and one of our directors taking on the role of Chairman of the Hartlepool Youth Working Group, part of the Hartlepool Youth Investment Project, a project responsible for a reduction of youth unemployment in Hartlepool by 75%.

Here is too an even better 2018 – with a number of exiting initiatives planned, new machinery, expansion of the Bridgman’s capacity, new mechanical test certification, extension to the Q Mark scheme and new BIM models all to look forward to.
