Abet have launched a new range of 33 colour options together with 14 woodgrains all offered in standard sizes up to 2250 x 1000mm, laminate colour swatches can be also sent out within 24 hours notice.
The Abet range fits nicely alongside BIBC’s Polyrey and Formica standard laminate ranges.

To raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, BIBC Managing Director Mick Butler, recently cycled the arduous coast to coast route from Walney Island to Whitby.
They surpassed their initial target and have raised over £2220 but there is still time to donate at their JustGiving page:
In preparation for the forthcoming Government legislation in 2016 that states all public contracts are to be run to a BIM level 2 standard, Bridgman have launched a series of pre-hung doorsets that have level 2 BIM data. The go ahead door manufacture based at 10000ft premises in Hartlepool, will be able to supply the data in a format to suit the end user which includes Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) and the data for Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBie).

The models are free to download and are also supported by RIBA NBS Plus scheme which will take the hassle out of specification for FD30 and FD60 pre-hung / doorsets. Bridgman cubicles ranges is also available to download.

CE Marking10th July 2015 marks a milestone for the Fire doorset industry, as the standard for fire doorsets EN 16034 was officially entered into the Official Journal of the European Union.
This entry will finally allow the CE marking of fire doorsets, windows, garage and Industrial door.
CE marking of fire doorsets can start from 1st December 2015 and there will subsequently be a 3 year transition period for manufacturers to achieve compliance.
BIBC will shortly embarking on a series of tests towards the new standards , with the first test due next month.

With the continued and growing emphasis on sustainability in construction we could be on the verge of a radical shift in how we think about the current stock of buildings. The time may be coming when we stop planning for building replacement, and instead plan for building reuse. That in turn would significantly change the roles of designers and builders.
