Certification Update

As part of the Exova Q Mark scheme which provides “peace of mind” that the manufacturer is constantly providing a quality product through independent verification by a third party certification body, BIBC will be carrying a full blown fire test of the flax and styles and railes severe duty door core .

 

One for the purest but the actual fire test footage will be displayed on the BIBC web site. The fire test is planned for the end of July.

BIM Models – Now available in Revit and IFC

Bridgman have launched a series of pre-hung doorsets that are to the Government requirement level 2 BIM data. The BIM models are available in a format to suit the end user which includes Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) and Revit.

The models are free to download and are also supported by RIBA NBS Plus scheme which will take the hassle out of specification for FD30 and FD60 pre-hung / doorsets.

Free ‘Fire Protection Measures understanding your responsibilities’ course

Expert industry training provider, Exova BM TRADA, will be holding its next free ‘Fire Protection Measures – understanding your responsibilities’ training on 12 July at Sheffield Hallam University.

This popular event includes a number of short seminars over a half day which will provide participants with critical guidance on how to fulfil their obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRFSO).

Welcome to the new recruits

Siam Ahmed has strengthened the estimating team after completing a Business Financial Management degree at Sunderland University. Siam is the third graduate to join the business in the last 18 months.

Also joining BIBC on a 8 week work experience placement from Teesside University is Michael Barley. Michael’s remit is to expand and radically improve the BIBC web site.
